Good episode!
Seth,
If you are planning to read some more C.J. Cherryh Alliance/Union stuff, I might recommend Finity’s End (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/57066.Finity_s_End). I feel it’s a bit more of a Downbelow Station sequel than many of the other books which are more “shared universe” and I think you’d like it for a few reasons.
– It has the Hisa, who you liked and most of the other books don’t feature.
– It deals primarily with the trader/stationer cultural differences, which again you seemed to like.
– It’s a lot shorter than Downbelow
It’s still C.J.’s usual pacing, so she may or may not be your favourite author, but I found this one interesting and touching.
Thanks for the recommendation. I may take you up on it if my library has it on audio. And thanks for listening!
